Let me share a little bit about my professional background and credentials. I have a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and I am a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Prior to my private practice work, I spent several years providing therapy to students at Long Island University – Post Campus. My past clinical experience also includes work in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatric settings at Northwell Health’s Zucker Hillside Hospital.
In an effort to keep up with the latest evidence-based approaches, I frequently attend psychotherapy workshops, trainings, and seminars. I have completed specialized trainings in treating anxiety through The Beck Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Anxiety and Depression Association of America, and Russ Harris’ ACT training program. Recently, I completed training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Level 1), as well as Brainspotting (Phase 1 & 2). These modalities are based on the latest research revealing how the brain, nervous system and body play roles in mental health.
Prior to my counseling career, I spent several years working in corporate business. I find that this experience gives me good insight into career challenges that some people face. In addition, my years as a stay-at-home mom provide me with a solid understanding of the rewards and st
